VEREENIGING. – The police in Vereeniging have launched a missing person’s case docket following the mysterious disappearance of a 34-year-old truck driver, Calvin Mduduzi Tshangelosi.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela reports that Tshangelosi’s family and employer are alarmed by the incident. The truck he drives was found abandoned and damaged in Steel Park, Vereeniging.

“Tshangelosi was last seen leaving Benoni in a white truck on March 3 around 18:00. The truck was found abandoned and damaged but there was no sign of the driver.”

Maxambela states that during preliminary investigations, police were informed that Tshangelosi’s phone was still active at around 22:00 on the day.

“All attempts to contact him were unsuccessful. We are appealing to members of the community who may have information that can help find him to please alert the police.”
