VAALPARK – Despite inclement weather, Jandre Nel and Claudia Daws were crowned Heron Banks Golf Club’s Club Champions for 2025 on March 16. Nel beat Wickus Brand and PG Swartz in a sudden-death playoff on the 10th hole.
All three of them ended on 147 after two rounds, but the play-off had to take place on the 10th because the customary 18th hole’s fairway was water-drenched. After the first playoff hole, PG Swartz was eliminated, and Jandre and Wickus battled it out.
Jandre walked off with the spoils. Daws scored 57 IPS points to beat the runner-up, Martie Nortje.
In the B-division, Meyer Prinsloo (154:75-79) walked off with the spoils followed by Hennie Coetzee (162: 82-89).
Du Randt Theunissen and Jannie Cilliers claimed the top podium places in the C-division.
