EVATON.–  A case of murder is being investigated by the Evaton police after a man died following an alleged assault by a group of unknown men in Evaton North on Sunday.

It is alleged that the deceased, a man aged 31, was brought home by a group of unknown men driving in a blue BMW who were busy assaulting him. The suspects are said to have arrived in front of the victims’ yard and they dropped him and drove away. Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi explained that the deceased had bruises on his body and was half naked. It was not known why was he assaulted.

“The mother of the deceased stated that she last saw her son on Tuesday, April 8 and doesn’t know what her son did to be assaulted, and dropped at home without any explanation. The police found the deceased lying on the ground at his parents’ house in Evaton North. He was already deceased when they got there,” Msibi said.

A case of murder is being investigated and no suspects have been arrested.
