Ramarakane is going places

Rallying behind the young star and making sure that a talent like hers gets the chance it deserves will go a long way into showing a true spirit of South Africans, Ubuntu.

SEDIBENG.- Bonolo Ramakarane (14), a grade nine student at Hoërskool Drie Riviere, is making waves in South African youth sports.

She has the chance to take her talent overseas.

Ramarakane has been selected to participate in an international hockey tournament in the Netherlands and Germany in October.

A standout all-round athlete, she competes in 1 500m and high jump, and was named joint Junior Hockey Player of the Year at her school last year. She currently plays for the Vaal Triangle U16 A team and is attending provincial trials this week for a spot on the Southern Gauteng U16 team.

Her mother, Mahlohonolo Ramakarane explained, to Sedibeng Ster, that that this trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for her daughter to showcase her skills on a global stage—but she needs the community’s help to get there. With travel and accommodation costs being a challenge, the community is invited to support Ramarakane’s journey through donations or sponsorships.

A total amount of R59 500 is needed to make her dream come true.

This amount will help cover accommodation, transport, meals and air fare, amongst other necessities.

Rallying behind the young star and making sure that a talent like hers gets the chance it deserves will go a long way into showing a true spirit of South Africans, Ubuntu.

If you would like to help this promising young athlete achieve her dream, please contact her mother on 062 264 1763.
