Segage and friends in business of washing takkies

"We decided to improve our lives, seeing that most young people are idling after matric because there are no jobs."

VANDERBIJLPARK.- With a high level of unemployment, a group of young people decided to create jobs for themselves.

A group of young people who took the initiative to do something with their lives, seeing that there are no jobs available in this country. Thabang Segage and his friends decided to do something about their situation – they opened Coco Takkie Wash in Vanderbijlpark.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Segage said they decided to improve their lives, seeing that most young people are idling after matric because there are no jobs. According to Segage, Coco Takkie Wash is part of creating jobs for themselves instead of busking in the sun the whole day, doing nothing.

He also told Sedibeng Ster that the business has just started, but they are determined to sustain and have their own premises.

“There are no jobs, and it is well known that we, as young people after finishing matric or university, are simply sitting at home doing nothing. It is a national crisis, and if we sit home and fold our arms and do nothing, no one is going to rescue us from poverty. This business is part of our hustle, and we want to make it big. We are sick and tired of going up and down with our CVs looking for jobs without any success. We don’t want to end up doing crime. We have seen other young people end up in jail because of a lack of jobs. So, we decided that we won’t be victims of crime,” said Segage.
