Ongoing police operations continue to combat crime in the Vaal
Additionally, three individuals were arrested for possession of illicit substances.
De Deur – The police in De Deur continue to stamp their authority through various operations, ensuring that criminals have nowhere to run.
This week, 17 suspects were arrested during Operation Vala Umgodi, which saw high police visibility in all De Deur policing precincts.
Constable Mampho Mahlomola says, “The operation aims to combat crime and curb illicit activities. During this operation, 14 undocumented individuals were apprehended, with 11 hailing from Mozambique, one from Zambia, one from Zimbabwe, and one from Malawi.
Additionally, three individuals were arrested for possession of illicit substances.
The operation started with a parade in Walkerville with Station Commander Colonel Lucas Nkosi addressing members, emphasising the importance of aligning with the Code of Conduct to preclude unnecessary repercussions.
Nkosi further exhorted members to prioritise mutual support while executing their duties. Captain Mzimkhulu Mthimkulu commended the members for their diligent efforts in curbing criminality in the area.
