SEDIBENG.- It’s official!
Young Pirates FC are SAFA Sedibeng Hollywood Men’s League 2024/2025 champions. The latter were crowned champions after they won both of their last two league matches over the weekend.
SAFA Sedibeng President Solly Mokhabela and his deputy president Velaphi Motsepe crowned the champs on Sunday. Pirates FC played against Vaal Juventus FC (10-0) and Ben 10 FC (9-2) on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. They successfully defended their title against all odds, and now their focus is the promotion to the ABC Motsepe League.
It has been a while since this region has produced a team in this league.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Motsepe said it was a long season with 20 teams. Motsepe, who was in the company of the president, confirmed to Sedibeng Ster Sport that Young Pirates FC is officially the champs, which means they will represent this region at the Inter-Regional play-offs.
“We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Young Pirates FC for being our regional champions. We wish them the best in the Inter-Regional play-offs and do not doubt that they will make us proud. We want to see a team playing in the ABC Motsepe League from this region and Young Pirates FC is carrying the hopes of Sedibeng people,” said Motsepe.
