Initiation registrations closed for winter 2025 in Gauteng
A person found guilty is liable for a fine or imprisonment not exceeding 15 years.
SEDIBENG. – The Gauteng Initiation Coordinating Committee (PICC) has announced the closure of the application process for the 2025 Winter initiation season.
The committee said that a total of 103 initiation schools in the province have applied and been approved, and of these, 15 are female schools.
The initiation schools will operate between May 1 and July 21.
PICC spokesperson, Kiba Kekana, said that the committee indicated that strict action will be taken against any initiation school that operates unregistered, and that this may lead to closure of such a school, and transgressors will face prosecution.
