De Deur SAPS reaffirms commitment to combat crime

The meeting further aimed to strengthen cooperation between the police and the community in the ongoing fight against crime.

DE DEUR- The SAPS in De Deur, in partnership with the Sedibeng District Office, the Department of Community Safety, the Community Policing Forum, the Youth Crime Prevention Desk, and Siyabangena Patrollers, held a community engagement at the Thulamtwana/Kanana Park Ext 3 grounds.

The meeting was held on June 25. The objective of the community meeting was to reaffirm the SAPS’s commitment to serving and protecting the residents.

The meeting further aimed to strengthen cooperation between the police and the community in the ongoing fight against crime.

Mangaliso Petse, Deputy Chairperson of the De Deur CPF, opened the meeting by welcoming attendees and expressing appreciation for the community’s presence. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the community, SAPS, and all stakeholders to effectively combat crime.

Colonel Lucas Nkosi, De Deur SAPS Station Commander, delivered a keynote address in which he urged residents not to remain silent about criminal activities and to actively support police efforts. He encouraged a united stance against criminality, with open communication and trust between the police and community members.

The session also provided a platform for community members to raise their concerns, challenges, and frustrations related to safety and policing in the area.

In response, Colonel Nkosi committed to addressing all raised issues with urgency and diligence.
