Oliver Lodge Primary School celebrates 75th Anniversary in style

This day marked the beginning of a new era for the school.

VANDERBIJLPARK.- Oliver Lodge Primary School celebrated its 75th anniversary in grand style on Saturday.

This historical millstone celebration was attended by parents, former teachers, former principals, learners, the Sedibeng West District, and other schools. This was a great day to be remembered, and those in attendance were spoiled with entertainment from the learners, drum majorettes, bikers, and a live band from Kgutlo-Thato Secondary School.

The highlight of the day was the entrance of the bikers carrying learners on the back of their bikes as they (learners) waved the school’s flag, much to the delight of parents who came in numbers to witness this day.

The excitement was written all over their faces, with the school principal, Matshidiso Simon, and her deputy, Justice Lethibelane, looking the proudest of all.

The performance was out of this world.

The school principal said this day marked the beginning of a new era for the school. She said the school is one of the best with a solid academic foundation. She acknowledged those who were there before giving a brief background of the school. She said the school is one of the oldest schools with a rich history.

She acknowledged the hard work of her staff members and the learners who put together this spectacular event.

Sedibeng Ster was there to capture this historical moment.
