Marriage week celebrated

Marriages built on faith, commitment, and love can withstand any storm.

SEBOKENG.- The Gauteng Department of Social Development recently celebrated SA Marriage Week at their Sebokeng offices.

SA Marriage Week was, this year, celebrated from September 1 to September 7.

“This year, we celebrated the theme ‘Unbreakable’ – because marriages built on faith, commitment, and love can withstand any storm. Let’s stand together to support couples in building strong, resilient marriages,” the department said.

Itani Mashau, a social work supervisor from the Sedibeng region, said that the purpose of the celebration is in response to the overwhelming number of fragmented marriages and seeks to highlight marriage as a fabric that holds families together.

“It highlights the benefits of a healthy marriage or relationship whilst educating and informing couples on how to enhance their relationship.”
