SHARPEVILLE. – An inquest docket has been opened, and is being investigated by the Sharpeville police, after a man was found hanging from  behind the old Sharpeville nightclub on Monday.

Witnesses, who wished to remain anonymous, told Sedibeng Ster that the man was seen in the early hours of the morning by people who use a path that goes through the nightclub while going to work in Vereeniging.

Police spokesperson, Constable Busisiwe Sango, said that police were summoned to a scene at the old nightclub in Phelandaba and upon their arrival, they found a lifeless body of a man who was identified by his younger brother at the scene.

At the time of going to print Sedibeng Ster could not ascertain the identity of the deceased.

The investigation is ongoing.
