Tears, Talent, and Triumph: KHD Radio welcomes Poni Poni in style
“This is more than just recognition; it’s a validation of the journey we’ve all walked as performers."
SEDIBENG.- KHD Radio turned up the volume on local talent this past weekend as the station, under the leadership of PR and Managing Director Dr. Noluthando Motsoane, hosted a vibrant and emotional celebration to welcome renowned actor and TV personality Poni Poni.
Supported by Isitha Crew, led by Director Ntokozo Ngwenya, the event stood as a bold declaration: Vaal talent deserves recognition, respect, and a spotlight of its own!

The gathering formed part of KHD Radio’s broader initiative to honor performers who have made an impact in the entertainment industry despite facing years of being overlooked. The tour featured several well-loved industry faces, including Mzikayise Makroti (Daddy Cool Nka), Tigga (Leshole), Dikeledi Modubu (Nelly), Zandile, Malume (Popeye), Maggie Ginindza (Mimmy/Nolwati), and Vacu. Their attendance added star power, inspiration, and camaraderie to an already electric atmosphere.
The emotional peak of the evening came when Poni Poni, overwhelmed with gratitude, broke down in tears while expressing his appreciation for the recognition.

“This is more than just recognition; it’s a validation of the journey we’ve all walked as performers,” he said, visibly moved as the crowd erupted in support.
Entertainment remained at full throttle throughout the event. Performers including Tycoon Blaq, Mosolodi, Ke Swazi, Connie Conneto, and Stapia from Genesis delivered outstanding sets that kept guests cheering, dancing, and fully engaged. A standout contributor of the night was Matshepo “Skinny AF” Molefe, who was applauded for her exceptional interviewing skills—digging deep with insightful questions and capturing the most memorable moments of the celebration.
The evening’s success was further elevated by the stylish ambiance provided by 2.0 Lifestyle, the event hosts.
Reflecting on the event, Dr. Noluthando Motsoane reaffirmed KHD Radio’s commitment to uplifting local talent.

“Our mission is to shine a light on those who have given so much to the entertainment industry but have not always been acknowledged. Vaal has a wealth of talent, and it’s time their contributions are celebrated,” she emphasised.

The event not only honoured the actors but also solidified KHD Radio’s ongoing commitment to its community. By using its platform to elevate performers who are often overshadowed, the station continues to rewrite the narrative for Vaal’s entertainment industry.
