One For Sorry DC celebrates third anniversary

While celebrating the anniversary, club founder Thabiso Nkoko noted that the journey was not easy.

SEBOKENG.- One For Sorry DC celebrated its third anniversary at the Clubhouse in Zone 24 recently.

Club founder member Thabiso Nkoko reflected back on when the team was formed three years back.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Nkoko said when he started this project, little did he know that today his team would be the best development team in Sebokeng.

He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that when they started, they had fifteen mixed-age groups of U11 and U13.

However, today the club consists of four divisions, namely U11, U13, U15, and U17.
This anniversary celebration was attended by the Zone 24 community, especially the parents of the players.

Those players who have been with the club since its establishment three years ago were presented with Certificates of Appreciation for their services to the team.

Nkoko said this is a remarkable achievement for the club, considering how it was started.
He said no one gave them a chance when they started saying they won’t last, but they proved them wrong.

“I must admit running a development team is not child’s play. It was not easy when we started because we were competing against well-established teams in the area.We had no soccer kit, and we had to improvise, but look at us today. We are one of the best development teams around here. We have five trophies in our cabinet in a short space of three years. I’m really grateful for the support I receive from the parents of these players”, he said.

Nkoko told Sedibeng Ster Sport that he is looking forward to 2026 and making a huge impact in the development of football in Vaal.
