Initiates rivalry causes havoc in Polokong

Two cases of attempted murder have been opened after two males were shot.

SEBOKENG.- A fight between two groups of initiates nearly left destruction in Polokong, Sebokeng, over the weekend.

It is said that a row between the rival groups led to one group allegedly hunting down members of the other group. A fight ensued, and shots were fired.

A house was allegedly burnt down, and another vandalised.

Sebokeng police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane, confirmed the case and said that said that two cases of attempted murder have been opened after two males were shot.

“Several malicious damage to property cases have also been opened.”

Mokhachane added that no suspects have been arrested.

“The motive behind the shooting and damage to property is currently unknown, and an investigation is underway.”
