SEBOKENG.- Octopus FC will host the Back-to-School Top 16 Development Tournament from January 17 – February 15.

This tournament is scheduled to take place at the Vaal Killers soccer ground in Zone 8.

The age group divisions that will form part of this tournament are U11, U13, U15, and U17. The tournament will be played in a point system format, with the two top teams in each group proceeding to the knockout stages.

The finalists in each category will get a soccer kit, a trophy, and medals.

This will be the first tournament of 2026, with all the local development teams that play under the Emfuleni Local Football Association expected to be part of this initiative.

The aim of the tournament aligns with the preparations for the junior soccer leagues.  Some of the teams expected to be part of this back-to-back school tournament include Lakeside Future Stars FC, Sebokeng Brazil FC, Sebokeng Ajax FC, Vaal Garden Sports Academy, Polokong Dev FC, Celta Vigo, and Octopus, which happens to be the tournament’s organisers under the leadership of Mondli Nkosi.

To date, Octopus Dev FC is a long-serving member of the Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA).
