Dube Continental FC held Pirates FC to a 1-all draw
For them, it was like a win, taking into consideration their position on the log coming into the encounter.
MEYERTON.- Dube Continental FC shocked many when they held Young Pirates FC to a 1-1 draw in the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League match.
This fixture took place at the Sicelo Stadium in Meyerton on Sunday. It was a match between a rock-bottom team against one that seemed to be challenging the league title at the end of the season. Continental FC is second from the bottom of the log with nine points from 14 games they played so far this season.

This was the first game for both teams after the Christmas break.
Pirates FC came into this fixture in fourth place on the log, but weekend results have seen them drop to sixth place. Many thought it would be a walk in the park for the home team. However, the visitors fought with everything to come out of this game with a point away from home.

For them, it was like a win, taking into consideration their position on the log coming into the encounter.
Sedibeng Ster Sport predicted that it would not be a walk in the park for Young Pirates FC, as Dube Continental FC was desperately in need of maximum points to move away from the relegation quagmire. Apart from this game, there were also changes at the top of the log with Free
Agents FC now at the summit with 26 points.

However, hot on their heels is Dinoko FC City with the same number of points and games.
The four top teams on the log have an equal number of points, with Mabopane FC and Rrr Rams FC third and fourth on the log, and Dinoko City FC and Free Agents FC second and third. Back to Young Pirates, they will travel to Johannesburg to face the University of Johannesburg FC in the ABC Motsepe League on Saturday. However, Young Pirates FC are good travelers; they won most of their games away from home.
The most recent one was when they beat the log leaders (then Rrr Rams FC) in December.
