Detective Malindi applauded for securing lengthy sentences
Her husband was rushed to Sebokeng hospital where he was pronounced dead.
SHARPEVILLE.- A Sharpeville man was recently sentenced to 12 years direct imprisonment following the murder of a man in Tshepiso Phase 3 in 2024.
On Christmas Day, 2024 at around 21:00 the Sharpeville police responded to a complaint of fighting at Tshepiso Phase 03 and on arrival they were found a body of a man with stab wounds.
A case of murder was opened.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Busisiwe Sango, said that the docket was assigned to Detective Sergeant Malindi who worked tirelessly on the case and submitted all the evidence expected by the magistrate court.
“On 18 November last year the Vereeniging magistrate court sentenced the accused, Baxelele Ncamazana, to 12 years direct imprisonment for murder.”
Meanwhile in another one of Detective Malindi’s cases he investigated usefully and got a conviction. A man was sentenced at the Vereeniging magistrate court to 8 years imprisonment suspended for five years with conditions.
He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
Sango said that the Sharpeville police patrol vehicle received a complaint that there was a complainant at the Client Service Centre (CSC) who stated that her husband was stabbed with a sharp object by his friend after they had an altercation, her husband was rushed to Sebokeng hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A case docket of murder was registered and assigned to Detective Sergeant Alfred Malindi who worked tirelessly investigating the matter and collecting evidence until the matter went on trial in October 27, last year.
