Teixeira sends condolences after 13 children lose lives in accident

SEDIBENG. – On behalf of Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM), its Executive Mayor, Peter Teixeira expressed his condolences following the tragic passing of thirteen (13) learners who lost their lives in a devastating road accident outside Vanderbijlpark this morning.

Reports indicate that the learners were travelling in a private scholar transport vehicle, which was involved in a collision with a truck near Vanderbijlpark.

“My heartfelt condolences go out to the parents, families, schools, and loved ones of the learners during this time of profound grief and sorrow. This is an unimaginable loss that has shaken our communities deeply.

Teixeira also also extend his prayers and well wishes for the speedy and full recovery of the learners who remain hospitalised.

“I urge all road users to exercise caution, obey the rules of the road, practice patience, especially when overtaking and remember that lives are at stake. Let us all play our part to ensure that we arrive alive at our respective destinations.”
