Local boy back to his happy hunting ground

“The love and support of the local soccer fans humbles me."

BOIPATONG. – Local star Tshediso ‘Bashemane’ Tshehla enjoyed a happy homecoming on Saturday as he returned to the Isak Steyl Stadium.

This Boipatong youngster came in as a substitute for Dinoko City FC, who played to a 1-all draw against Jomo Cosmos in the ABC Motsepe League. Friends, family, and former teammates filled the stands, chanting his name with excitement. He almost made an immediate impact, firing a shot just over the crossbar moments after coming on, and he remained all over Cosmos’ defence.

Watching from the stands, Tshehla’s family were seen cheering every time he touched the ball.

Tshehla was back at the venue that he used to mesmerise many of his markers while playing for Sekhukhune United Dstv Diski Challenge team two seasons ago. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport after the game, Tshehla said it was great playing in front of his family, supporters, and former teammates after a long time.

“The love and support of the local soccer fans humbles me. I really miss playing in front of them, and they were my inspiration while I was still playing for Sekhukhune United. My family was also here to watch me when I was still playing for Sekhukhune United. I missed that atmosphere, especially from the supporters, and I will forever be grateful for their support. I’m happy that I didn’t disappoint them,” said Tshehla.
