MEYERTON.- Young Pirates FC’s victory against Mike-1- Stars FC saw them move to the second spot on the ABC Motsepe League.

The Vaal-based beat Mike-1-Stars FC 4-2 in the league match played at their home ground, Sicelo Stadium in Midvaal on Sunday.

This was a much-needed win for the home side to narrow the league gap at the top of the log standings. As things stand, Young Pirates FC are second on the log standings with 37 points.

To make it even more exciting, they are two points behind the log leaders, Free Agents FC.

Free Agents FC are topping the log standings with 39 points from the same number of games, 20 with Young Pirates FC. This win made the home side realise how close they are to overtaking Agents FC at the top. This win has made them realise that anything is possible, and despite the fact that it is their first season in the ABC Motsepe League, they will cause an upset.

They are about to write South African football history from the lower division leagues and conquer the ABC Motsepe League. This is an incredible performance for the club that is regarded as the ABC Motsepe newcomers. They have shown up against all odds, with no one giving them a chance after being promoted in this league at the beginning of the season.

In fact, their position on the log sends a clear message to their opponents, “we are here to stay and challenge the league title.”
