Tech Expo takes over Boipatong

The expos are designed to fight poverty by equipping young people with the digital skills needed to succeed in today’s world.

BOIPATONG.- The Boipatong Monument was buzzing with energy as local youngsters gathered for a two-day Youth Tech Expo recently.

Held on two days, the event focused on giving the next generation the tools they need to succeed in the digital age.

The event, organised by the Gauteng Department of e-Government in partnership with Greycode, provided hands-on ICT training to help bridge the digital divide in the community. Dan Legote, representing e-Gov, explained that the expos are designed to fight poverty by equipping young people with the digital skills needed to succeed in today’s world.

“Engaging with the youth and driving digital skills development remains a key priority for building a digitally empowered Gauteng,” Legote said.

Young people came out in numbers to explore opportunities in the digital space.

“From skills development to innovation and career pathways, the future of tech is alive right here in our communities,” the department said.
