SEDIBENG.- The ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) in the region has expressed deep sadness and anger at the brutal murder of “No woman should lose her life in this manner.
Rantsofu is a former employee of Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), a Senior Clerk in the Finance and Revenue department of the ELM who was murdered, execution style, in Vanderbijlpark on Monday, March 30, while at a tyre shop waiting for her car’s tyre to be fixed.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, ANCWL Sedibeng Secretary, Disebo Tlebere, said that Rantsofu’s killing is a painful reminder of the ongoing violence faced by women.
“No woman should lose her life in this manner. We condemn this act in the strongest terms.”
The ANCWL Sedibeng welcomes the swift action taken by the law enforcement agencies in taking up the matter and initiating investigations.
PKTT roped in to help with the case
The Political Killing Task Team (PKTT) Gauteng has been roped in to help investigate the murder.
“We trust that the investigation will be thorough and that that responsible will be brought to justice. We also call for restraint and responsibility in how this matter is discussed publicly. Unverified claims and speculation risk distorting the truth and causing further harm to the family and loved ones who are still in mourning.”
The ANCWL called on members of the public, leaders, and institutions to act responsibly, to respect the dignity of the deceased and her family, and to allow the investigative processes to unfold without interference or distortion.
“This is a moment for dignity, not conjecture. The focus must remain on justice for Ms Rantsofu. The ANCWL extends its sincere condolences to the Rantsofu family, friends, and colleagues. We stand with them and reaffirm our commitment to confronting violence against women in all its forms.”
