ANC Sedibeng supports Mkhwane as he faces National Disciplinary Committee
“The REC confirms its support for Mkhwane as he continues to co-operate fully with all organisational processes and constitutional prescripts of the movement.”
SEDIBENG.- The ANC in Sedibeng held a special Regional Executive Committee (REC) meeting yesterday.
This followed the announcement that Regional Secretary, Jason Mkhwane, has been referred to the party’s National Disciplinary Committee (NDC). The urgent meeting, it is said, was called to discuss how the findings of a recent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting affect the region.
These findings related to an Integrity Commission process involving Mkhwane.
Speaking to the media during a briefing yesterday, ANC Secretary General, Fikile Mbalula, explained that the NEC had reviewed an Integrity Commission report concerning five party members who had allegedly brought the party into disrepute.
NEC endorses the report…
He stated that the NEC fully endorsed the report and its recommendations, praising the commission for its vital role in upholding ethical conduct and renewal within the party.
“The NEC thanks and salutes the members of the Integrity Commission, which stands at the core of the ANC’s renewal programme and at the core of the upholding of ethical conduct and good governance from within our ranks. The NEC fully endorsed the Report of the Integrity Commission and its recommendations on each of the comrades named.”
Mbalula announced that the NEC decided to take further action by referring five individuals to the NDC under the ANC’s constitutional disciplinary process, with the NEC acting as the complainant.
Alongside Mkhwane, the other members named were Sisisi Tolashe, Bheki Cele, Thanduxolo Khalipa, and Sithembiso Zungu.
REC confirms its support…
In response, the ANC Sedibeng REC stated that it noted the national decision and reaffirmed its commitment to organisational discipline and respect for the party’s constitutional structures.
The regional committee pointed out that the matter is still subject to internal processes, including the upcoming NDC proceedings. They also noted a pending judgment before the full court of the Gauteng division, which follows a decision by the Supreme Court of Appeal to grant leave to appeal.
“The REC confirms its support for Mkhwane as he continues to co-operate fully with all organisational processes and constitutional prescripts of the movement.”
Looking ahead, the Sedibeng REC emphasised that it remains focused on strengthening its local structures.
The region is preparing for the Local Government Elections (LGE) scheduled for November 4.
The REC urged all members, branches, leagues, and alliance partners to stay disciplined, united, and focused on rebuilding the ANC in Sedibeng.
