SEBOKENG.– The African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME), D.M Robinson, in Zone 11, held prayers for the Executive Mayor of the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) Hassan Mako, on Sunday.

The church said that it prayed for Mako for guidance, favour and blessings.

“Having noticed his work, his demonstration of what to be a public servant mean, his dedication to turning the Municipality into an institution that works for the people, the church could not standby and not support him with prayers. We invited him here today to give him the support we know best, a prayer,” said Reverend Mokoteli.

The church presented Mako and his partner with Basotho blankets and hats.

“Morena ke Morena ka kobo, (A king is a king because of a blanket),” said Reverend Mokoteli.

The event was held under the theme: “Wisdom, Strength and Courage…in service to our community.”
