VEREENIGING.- The Vereeniging Community Hall was recently beautified by a mother and aughter event hosted by Sedibeng Sub-region mayoral candidates of the EFF.

With the dress code being jeans and red, the mothers and daughters from around Sedibeng met for a time of learning, laughing, reflecting, and sharpening each other.

The event also let the girl child be embraced and heard.

The EFF mayoral candidates are:

Lesedi Local Municipality: Nombuso Jokwe

Midvaal Local Municipality: Karabo Monyane

Emfuleni Local Municipality: Jeanette Matshidiso Maloka

Meanwhile, the EFF recently congratulated Maloka on her appointment as the ELM mayoral candidate.

The party said that Maloka has consistently contributed to building the organisation, political mobilisation and election campaign.

Maloka served the party as Branch Command Team Member and Sedibeng Election Convenor during the 2024 elections. A former pupil at Montsushi Primary and Tokelo Secondary Schools, Maloka is said to have a clear understanding of social and service delivery challenges facing the local community.

Maloka joined the party in 2013.

“Her leadership has been distinguished by her work against gender-based violence. She has championed programmes focused on the protection of women and children, support for survivors and community awareness.”

The EFF said that Maloka’s commitment remains central to her vision of building a safer community in Emfuleni.
