Zimbabwean national arrested for allegedly manufacturing SA ID’s
The man was allegedly recruiting people who required South African smart identity cards, as well as forged bank statements and pay-slips.
SEDIBENG.- Police in Johannesburg have arrested a Zimbabwean national for allegedly manufacturing fraudulent South African identity cards.
It is said that yesterday, September 9, police received information about a man allegedly recruiting people who required South African smart identity cards, as well as forged bank statements and pay-slips.
Following verification of the information, police conducted an operation in the Hillbrow policing precinct. The operation resulted in the search and seizure of six SA smart identity cards, 22 blank SA smart identity cards, a laptop and a smart card printing machine.
Police said that a Zimbabwean national was subsequently arrested and is expected to appear in court soon.
Investigation in this case continues.
