Zilisimenye Elderly Home hosted a successful Family Fun Walk to raise funds for the home.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Khululekile Dyarvane, the founder and centre manager, hailed this fundraising event a huge success. Dyarvane said he was overwhelmed by the turnout from people all over, including outside Sedibeng, to support this initiative.

He told Sedibeng Ster that it was a day that the elderly people would never forget.

He said the elderly had a lot of fun with some even participating in the Fun Walk despite their age. Dyarvane described this event as a huge success, considering the support they received from organisations, individuals, and donations from Good Samaritans; some donated meat.

Dyarvane said the fundraising was to improve the condition of the elderly home, with winter around the corner. He said their biggest challenge is restoring electricity to the home, among other things. He told Sedibeng Ster that he was humbled by the positive response they received from the Duncanville community.
