SEBOKENG.- Coach Katleho Tau made history by leading Ben 10 FC to promotion into the ABC Motsepe League for the 2026/2027 season.

He achieved this after the team finished as runners-up in the SAFA Sedibeng Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League.

Not many people gave the coach a chance, especially after his team suffered consecutive defeats against Perfect Academy. Many observers believed the league was out of reach and that Ben 10 FC could not win or finish as runners-up.

In fact, most people expected Boipatong FC and Perfect Academy to be the two teams representing Sedibeng in the Gauteng Hollywoodbets Men’s Inter-Regional Play-offs over the weekend. However, Tau proved his critics wrong by taking his team from nowhere to a second-place finish.

As a result, Ben 10 FC and Boipatong FC will now both represent Sedibeng in the ABC Motsepe League for the upcoming season. Alongside his Boipatong FC counterpart, Thabang Mphuti, these two could be the youngest coaches in the league.

Despite their youth, they have shown great potential and natural talent as emerging coaches from the region.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport during the play-offs, Tau said that he is ready to guide his team to the highest level and wants to see Sedibeng represented in top-flight football once again. He explained that playing in the ABC Motsepe League places them just two steps away from the PSL.

He believes this goal is achievable, especially since few people expected his team to make it this far. Tau expressed his confidence by stating that anything is possible and that they can achieve what many consider to be an impossible mission.

“I’m determined to make a name for myself in coaching, and I’m willing to learn as much as I can. I’m very proud of these players because they didn’t give up even after we lost some crucial games during the season. They kept on believing, and here we are today celebrating our hard work as a team,” he told Sedibeng Ster Sport.
