SEDIBENG.- Stream A and Stream B of the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League are set to kick off the weekend of October 2-3.

The league was supposed to kick off this weekend but was postponed due to the international break, with Bafana Bafana playing an African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers match against Guinea at Orlando Amstel Arena tomorrow (September 26).

Jomo Cosmos will start their Stream B campaign at home, hosting Young Pirates FC in the local derby. The game is scheduled to take place at the Isak Steyl Stadium on October 3, and kick-off is at 15:00.

This season, the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League is divided into two streams, Stream A and Stream B, with the winners of both streams playing the play-offs at the end of the season to determine the overall winner in Gauteng.

Cosmos is in the same group as Orlando Pirates, Doorkop Students, Dube Continental, Wits University, TUT and Leruma United, among other teams. They avoided Free Agents FC, Dinoko City, Rrrr Rams Football Club, University of Johannesburg, Ben 10 FC, and Boipatong FC, who are in Stream A.

To make it interesting, Cosmos is one of three teams waiting for the winners of SAFA Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League for the ABC Motsepe League’s Nedbank Cup Preliminary round. The winners will proceed to the Round of 32 to play against the Motsepe Foundation Championships and PSL teams.
