Man in hot water for using the K-word

A charge of crime injuria has since been lodged by the acting Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), Penny Sengoatsi with the Vanderbijlpark police.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – A man has landed himself in hot water after using the K-word in a social media message. The social media user used the word when criticising the recent blockade of the entrance to Rand Water by Emfuleni Local Municipality’s  top officials.

A part of the text messages on Facebook, read: ‘Nou staan die munisipaliteit by Rand Water (en betoog). Dis lyk al manier wat ‘n k***** verstaan.’ The message caught the attention of the African National Congress (ANC) activists last week, who subsequently arranged a march to the Vanderbijlpark Police Station to lodge criminal charges against the culprit.

A charge of crimen injuria has since been lodged by the acting Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), Penny Sengoatsi with the Vanderbijlpark police.  Sipho Mnguni, ANC Zonal chairperson says, “It is an embarrassment to see  that in a democratic country, we are still living with people calling others by unprintable words.”
