Police are on the scene in Danie Theron Street, SE2, Vanderbijlpark after a female auditor who is involved in investigating the chaotic money matters of Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), was shot in a guesthouse early this morning.
The woman and another auditor from out of town were accommodated in the guesthouse while they were busy with their investigation.
According to unconfirmed sources, the robbers broke into her room at about 04:00 this morning (Friday 12 October) and shot her twice in the legs. The robbers fled with only her laptop.
The male auditor who is also involved in the forensic investigation at ELM, was in another bedroom and was fortunately not injured.
The injured woman was transported to a local hospital.
The police are investigating the case.
