OPINION: ‘Stop passing the buck’

After numerous reminders, he came up with the excuse that the municipality does not have a chainsaw to do the job.

DEAR Editor,-

I wish someone can tell me how to get any reaction from the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality. To me, it seems the only way is to burn tyres and destroy property, which is easy to do, but unfortunately I was not brought up that way.

Peppi Govender, it seems to me you sit in your office and pass the buck to the next one who does not care a damn. One of your officials promised to cut an overhanging branch in Crain Road, Tweni, which can be dangerous.

After numerous reminders, he came up with the excuse that the municipality does not have a chainsaw to do the job (shame!). In the meantime, employees who receive a monthly salary must sit and wait for tools the municipality can’t supply?

Mr Govender, please ask Tap Kruger (councillor of ward 16) to accompany you to Crain Road and see for yourself.

Bring all the correspondence sent to you regarding the stormwater, verges and overgrown vacant stands with you. Don’t pass this on to someone else – be a man and face it yourself!
