Solstice race in Scottburgh raises funds for non-profit

The beneficiary is Keep Scottburgh Beautiful.

The success of the recently held Renishaw Solstice Race in Scottburgh not only brought athletes together, but raised funds for a good cause.

The event was held at Crocworld Conservation and Adventure Centre, with the event host, Scottburgh Cycling Club, and title sponsor Renishaw Coastal Precinct donating R7500 to Keep Scottburgh Beautiful, with a portion of the race proceeds supporting the ongoing enhancement of the town’s entrance and surrounding environment.

Barto van der Merwe, managing director of Renishaw Coastal Precinct, said this was an amazing example of a community event which encourages outdoor activity, supports local businesses and gives back to the community.

On receiving the donation, Gavin Roberts of Keep Scottburgh Beautiful said the primary objective is to ensure that residents enjoy a clean, well-maintained town while encouraging more visitors and holidaymakers to choose Scottburgh as their destination.

“As tourism continues to grow, local businesses benefit, creating a stronger economy and a more vibrant future for the entire community,” explained Roberts.

Keep Scottburgh Beautiful is a community-driven non-profit organisation focused on making Scottburgh a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful place to live.

Through projects, events, and collaborations, it aims to inspire the community to participate and create a positive impact.
