Buddhist workshops coming up soon

THREE non-sectarian workshops on the subject, ‘Buddhist Teachings’ will be presented on the South Coast by the Venerable Chamtrul Rinpoche.

Anyone interested is warmly invited to join these discussions.

“People can spend their entire life searching for enlightenment outside, travelling the whole world from the bottom of the oceans to the top of the mountains. They can search as much as they like, but it won’t be found anywhere other than inside that which is doing the searching,” Chamtrul Rinpoche said.

His first workshop, ‘How does Karma work?’, takes place at Uvongo Library on Monday, August 28 from 5.45pm to 7.30pm.

His workshop, ‘A Teaching on Death and Dying’ takes place at Uvongo Library on Wednesday, August 30, 5.45-7.30pm.

His Interviews and Refuge Ceremony takes place at 417 Windsor Road, Shelly Beach (off Nicholson Road) on Tuesday, August 29th, from 5.45pm to 7.30pm. This is by appointment only. Contact Margi 0836286295 or namastehimalaya@gmail.com

Refuge involves a commitment to enlightenment for the sake of others by relying on the unsurpassable refuge objects – Buddha (teacher), the dharma (teachings) and the sangha (Buddhist community). Chamtrul Rinpoche will explain the refuge objects in depth and also the vows associated with taking refuge. New people will receive their dharma name and those who have already taken refuge can renew their refuge vows.

Teachings are free of charge, but donations (dana) towards Rinpoche’s travel expenses will be welcome.

Chamtrul Rinpoche is an authentic recognised master from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Rinpoche teaches worldwide and this is his eighth visit to South Africa and his second consecutive visit to the South Coast. Rinpoche comes directly to SA from his European and American tours. We are incredibly blessed that he is visiting us yet again and has chosen topics which, while Buddhist in orientation, will be of interest to many seekers of other spiritual paths.

Always happy to give teachings wherever they are needed, Rinpoche dedicates his life to help people awaken wisdom and inner peace. Through his invaluable knowledge and practical advice, Rinpoche compassionately guides newcomers and students, of all levels – beginners and advanced.
