Cape parrots need your help

 

SOUTH Africa’s critically endangered Cape parrot will be the subject of the June Crocworld Conservation Centre talk.

Guest speaker will be Colleen T Downs, a professor in the School of Life Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg campus, at the centre in Scottburgh on June 10.

She will share fascinating information about these colourful birds’ current population trends, ecology and physiology. Her talk will also look at the behaviour of terrestrial vertebrates in unpredictable environments and with changing land use.

Tickets for Prof Downs’s talk will cost R75 per adult and R35 for pensioners. Registration and welcoming will begin from 8.30am and the talk will commence at 9am.

Tickets will entitle guests to complimentary teas and coffees, as well as access to the Crocworld Conservation Centre’s vast grounds, plant nursery and the Le Rendez-Vous restaurant.
