Come and hear some good news at the Uvongo Community Safety Forum
THERE will be plenty of good news for Uvongo residents who attend the Uvongo Community Safety Forum annual general meeting in the Uvongo Library Activities Room on Monday, April 10 at 5.30pm.
The forum has experienced yet another year of successful crime fighting activities, according to its chairman Ernest Booysen.
He said there had been a huge reduction in the number of housebreaking incidents during the first quarter of this year when compared to the same time last year. The forum boasted an effective community block watch team that was well supported by local security companies and SAPS patrol staff.
“However, there is always room for improvement. And there is still plenty of room for adding to the numbers of our block watch team,” he said. It was therefore imperative that more residents and community members attended the AGM.
He extended an open invitation to everyone who was interested in reducing crime in Uvongo to come and share their thoughts. Those at the meeting would also have input in the election of the best possible people onto a committee that would lead the forum to new heights in the year ahead.
