Folk fest showcases local talent
THE annual acoustic music and folk festival, hosted by the Sanctuary of Love in Melville, has become firmly established as a highlight on the South Coast’s cultural and social calendar.
This year will see locals from all walks of life coming together at the sanctuary on Friday, June 16, the Youth Day public holiday, for the seventh consecutive year.

Guests will enjoy a wonderfully relaxing day of music, arts and crafts and community spirit in the beautiful garden.
As well as a diverse group of crafters and foodies taking part in the festival, local experts and organisations will be sharing their knowledge, experience and fascinating stories about the South Coast, South Africa and the natural environment.
Information will be available about the historic Hidden Years Music Archive, coordinated by well-known musician and music events host David Marks and there will be a geological display presented by Glenda Fletcher.
Guests can also find out about local surf schools, community organisations and tourism initiatives, so there will be plenty of interest to inspire festival-goers.
In keeping with the work done at the sanctuary, the festival also caters for more spiritual interests, with information, healing modalities like massage and clairvoyant readings available on the day.
