‘Idols’ will never be the same
FANS of the popular Gee Jays will be pleased to know these popular entertainers will present their hilarious new show, ‘Boep Idles’. at the South Coast Lions’ Show at the Port Shepstone Country Club on Saturday, July 11.
Back on the South Coast by popular demand, the Gee Jays look forward to staging their show for local fans. They describe ‘Boep Idles’as their tongue-in-cheek take on the reality television show,‘ Pop Idols’. According to them, it is definitely not for the faint-hearted.
Ever wondered what happened to those stars of yesteryear? The ones who made the big time in the 60s and 70s? The Gee Jays are sure they are sitting at home with a beer watching all these wannabe pop idols. There’s no Gareth Gates or Will Young at the helm of their show. Instead, it offers songs from the real idols of yesteryear. There was no instant stardom for guys like Cliff Richard, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Billy Joel, Tom Jones and many more.
The show is guaranteed to have you stamping your feet, clapping your hands, rolling in the aisles and singing along. Keep an open mind and make sure you bring along your sense of humour.
Ugu South Coast Tourism’s chief executive, Justin Mackrory, looks forward to the Lions’ Show and the great entertainment the Lions have lined up this year.
“We are always up for a good time down here on the coast . That’s why people love to visit us. It is the happy memories that keep people coming back for more and this year’s Lions’ Show line-up is most definitely living up to its reputation of doing just that – creating even more happy memories,” he said.
With his organisation one of the proud sponsors of the Lions’ Show, he congratulated the organisers on volunteering their time and effort for a good cause.
The Gee Jays will be on stage in the SAB Entertainment Tent from 7.30pm. Entrance to the entertainment tent is free, however normal gate entry costs will apply. Other items on the show programme include the Miss South Coast Pageant, the MTB Cycle Race, all sorts of arena events and live entertainment in the beer tent.
