Karou Charou brings new offering to the Wild Coast

ONE of South Africa’s most popular comedians, Karou Charou, best known for hit productions like ‘Beauty and da Charou’ (with Beauty Ramapelepele) and ‘Kama Sutra 1 and 2’, is earning plenty of applause with his new hit show, ‘Hot and Spicy’.

And good news for local fans is that they can catch this show at the Tropical Nites Theatre at the Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort on November 13 at 3pm.

His ‘Hot and Spicy’ is a family show and is suitable for all ages. It showcases the best of his work over the last five years. In true Karou style, the audience will play a major role with many landing up on stage to become part of the action. He will have the audience in stitches as he offers his take on Indian weddings, attempts to explain why 95 percent of Indians can’t swim and reveals the real reason why Indians don’t play rugby.

He will also offer his perspective on why it is not normal for human beings to get married. Then there is the crowd pleasing cowboy hoe down, which will have some fans on stage and the rest rolling in the aisles laughing. With so many young fans attending, a special segment will be dedicated to them.

“We look forward to hosting the charismatic Karou on our stage. Over the past five years he has amassed a large fan base across the country. This large fan base includes young children through to octogenarians. ‘Hot and Spicy’ has something for everyone,” said Sandi Burger, the Wild Coast promotions manager.

Karou, with his trademark outfits, dark glasses, bling and refreshingly interactive comedic style, is one of the most commercially successful comedians in South Africa. His popularity was recognised by McDonalds as he was chosen as the face for the company’s Hot and Spicy Burger campaign. This included adverts on national TV, billboards across the country, cinemas and social media ads.

The pre-booked ticket price is R80 and tickets bought at the door are R100. Seniors over 65 years pay just R60 and admission for children under 10 is free. There are a limited number of early bird tickets available for R60 per person on a first come first served basis. Tickets can be purchased via Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers.
