Marine biologist to talk on micro-plastic pollution

RAMSGATE Conservancy invites all interested and concerned people to a talk on the effect of micro-plastics and the resultant pollution on marine life.

It takes place at the Ramsgate Whale Deck on Friday, October 20, at 5pm. Entrance is free but bring your own refreshments.

The speaker is Dr Shannon Hampton, who works at the International Ocean Institute, where she coordinates the course in ocean governance for Africa and responsible fisheries training for small-scale fishing communities.

Dr Hampton, who has a broad background in marine biology, has been involved in creating awareness around the issue of plastics entering the ocean and the marine food web.
