Murder is on the menu

LOOKING for an enthralling evening of murder and mystery?

Then be sure to diarise the Hibiscus Amateur Theatrical Society’s (HATS) first production entitled ‘Murder on the Menu’ at the Margate Bowling Club on August 15, The Bistro on August 22 and the Southbroom Golf Club on August 28. All three performances start at 7pm.

The audience is invited to dress up in their very finest costumes and take part in an evening of fun-packed entertainment.

HATS, which has a cast of 14 players has been working hard on the first production, which is set in the 1920s.

The year is 1926, to be factually correct, and engagement celebrations are under way for Dimples Galepsi and her betrothed Mustav Moore. Dizzy Galepsi, mother of Dimples, has organised the The Society Party of the Year. Everyone is there, including the Chicago Belles dancers. However, all is not what it seems.

Mustev is discovered having more than just a passing interest in the other women at the party, especially Amelia Landsbury.

In short, the young man has upset quite a few people and ends up dead before the dessert is served.

It’s now up to the audience to turn detective and solve the mystery… ‘Who dun it?’ ‘Why?’

Thia Hulme, HATS director, said they have received such enthusiastic interest. “This is one of the great things about living in this part of the world. Everyone soon gets to know what’s happening and they are ready to embrace something new,” she said.
