Play gives Christmas story a fresh look

CHRISTMAS cheer will prevail at the special festive season weekend that the NG Church, Port Shepstone will host at the church on Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6.

Gifts, Christmas goodies and all sorts of lovely festive fare will be on sale at the big Christmas market on Saturday, starting at 8am. It is the perfect place to do a little early shopping and to stock up the pantry in readiness for the holidays.

On the Sunday, members of the congregation will present a nativity play with a difference called ‘Somer Kersfees’, at 6pm. This cleverly contrived production deals with the ancient story of the Nativity in a fresh, contemporary way. Although it is laced with a good dash of humour, it nevertheless delivers the serious and beautiful message that is at the heart of our Christmas celebrations.

Entry is free and everyone is welcome to attend the play. Boerewors rolls will be available.
