The Rock marks red-letter day
FAMOUS for celebrating important events in style, The Rock Music Bistro won’t disappoint when it comes to St Valentine’s Day.
In fact the music venue is planning to wrap a whole weekend of celebration round the season of romance. It starts this Friday, February 12, with a birthday bash for a resident legend, South African singer and songwriter David Marks. A bunch of musicians are planning to pull in, plug in and play from 6pm. They invite Rock regulars to come along to wish Dave happy birthday and to enjoy some happy vibes.
The music venue is holding a special St Valentine’s dinner on Saturday, February 13, also from 6pm. Guests can choose from the regular menu or, a more romantic option, order a picnic hamper for two. They will be serenaded by violinist Anton Cawthorn Blazeby of Landscape Prayers fame. Afterwards he will hand over the mic to up and coming loop artist Tyler D, a super-talented 19-year-old from Durban. Tyler is already making waves on the local music scene.
The celebrations culminate with a romantic afternoon of music by instrumentalist Seb Goldswain on St Valentine’s Day, February 14, from 1.30pm. There will also be a Valentine’s special pull in, plug in and play session with a whole lot of local musos coming along after performing at a private music festival.
Please note that booking is essential.
