Umdoni on the beat route
WELL known for the quality of both its in-house and outside entertainment, the Umdoni Village in Pennington is starting 2017 with the best in local fare.
Lovers of jazz, swing and really good music will be royally entertained by the seven-piece acoustic swing jazz band, ‘Beat-Route’, at a supper theatre evening at Umdoni Village on February 11.
Bring your own supper and refreshments. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. Tickets are now on sale at Artworks Scott Street, Scottburgh at R100 per person.
With band manager Daniel Sheldon on the trumpet up front, a ‘pumpin’ pianist, a radical drummer, a deliciously bluesy double bass, two soul-stirring vocalists and one of the best sax players you could wish to hear, ‘Beat-Route’ is always a huge hit. The group is renowned for its extensive repertoire and the heart and soul the musicians bring to their music. The show is entitled ‘Mr Bojangles’ and will incorporate New Orleans style music as well.
