Umdoni villagers back on stage

Yes, Pennington’s Umdoni Retirement Villagers are honing their performing skills to present another of their fabulously fun-filled variety shows, which they put together every second year. As usual they have lined up all sorts of fun and laughter for their audiences, including comedy sketches, skits, mimes and monologues, dancing and songs that leave the rafters ringing.

If you love all things Irish, you are in for some feisty footwork treats. You will also enjoy meeting the Sugar Babes, the Sergeant Major and the Alley Scallywags and finding out whether the village’ s Bountiful and Beautiful Brides make it to the church.

Expect a tear in your eye as some beautiful voices combine to sing ‘Bless the Beasts and the Children’, then learn something important in an original short skit written by a very special village resident.

Swoon to the suave Rat Pack and cheer on the fabulous and famous Umdoni Junior Boys’ Choir. And you’ll get the chance to find out what a Scotsman wears under his kilt.

Tickets are available at ArtWorks, Scott Street, Scottburgh, from Umdoni Village in Pennington on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings between 9am and 11am. The Supper Theatre on Saturday, October 29 sold out in two days, but there are still quite a few seats for the matinee show on Sunday, Octobter 30, at 2pm for 2.30pm. This costs R40 per person.
