Visiting trio honours Tananas

Looking back: Steve Newman will join up with Carlo Fabe and Peter Ndlala to play a Tananas tribute at Burlesque Café in Ramsgate on Sunday, December 13, at 1.30pm.

THE Steve Newman Trio, comprising Steve Newman on guitar, Carlo Fabe on drums and Peter Ndlala on bass, will play a Tananas tribute at Burlesque Café in Ramsgate on Sunday, December 13. A veteran guitar maestro and a former member of the iconic Tananas group, Steve is no stranger to this area and is always extremely well received when he visits the South Coast. As well as playing with Steve as part of the trio, Carlo and Peter perform with the Errol Dyers Quartet and other Cape luminaries.

The three awesomely talented musicians will cover Tananas material and will play some new pieces as well. Expect contemporary world sounds flavoured with herbs and spices from Africa to Asia, Cape to Cuba and the Caribbean to the Canary Islands.
