What bird is that?
THE Mpenjati Honorary Officer Group is holding the third in its ‘Walk and Talk’ series of nature walks in the South Bank section of Mpenjati Nature Reserve on Saturday, November 9. The subject will be ‘Birds and Bird Identification’.
Anyone interested in joining the group should meet at Mpenjati’s White House at 8.30am for 9am. Costs are R25 for adults and R15 for children and this includes the entrance fee to the reserve and a cup of tea or coffee after the walk. Cold drinks and bottled water will be on sale. The morning will start with an informative talk on bird identification.
This will be followed by a walk that will focus on discovering and identifying the reserve’s resident bird species. The talk and walk offers an ideal opportunity to brush up on bird identification skills in preparation for the national ‘Big Birding Day’, on November 28. Bring hats and sunscreen.
