MEMBERS of local conservancies and environmental groups, their friends and relations and any other interested people are cordially invited to the first annual general meeting of the South Coast Conservation forum.
The meeting takes place at Ramsgate Conservancy’s new Environment Centre at the Ramsgate whale deck on the Heritage Day holiday, Tuesday, September 24. Meet at 8am for a short walk along the Ramsgate Marine Ramble,
followed by a light breakfast of bacon and egg rolls, tea and coffee. The meeting will start at about 9am.
Guest speaker will be Rob Crankshaw who will talk about the KwaZulu-Natal Conservancies’ regional plans. Guests will also be able to look at the now completed second phase of Ramsgate Conservancy’s whale deck project, which includes the attractive new Environment Centre.
As forum spokesman Peter Vos pointed out, Ramsgate conservancy members had spent considerable time and money to create the Ramsgate whale deck, the Environment Centre and their park-like surrounds. The opportunity to see this development, which sensitively enhanced the spectacular surrounding natural beauty, was reason enough to attend the AGM, he said.
The forum would appreciate it if those attending would donate R30 per person to cover catering costs and to help raise funds for Ramsgate Conservancy. Bring binoculars, cameras and a chair with you.
