What to do if the ‘blue light’ brigade flags you down

IT is becoming increasing difficult to tell the difference between bona fide police officers and bogus cops. This leaves motorists with a dilemma – if a vehicle flashing its blue lights indicates that you are to pull over, do you comply, or do you proceed to the nearest place of safety? This issue has come under the spotlight more and more often of late (think of Leanne Douglas and Khuli Chana), prompting Justice Project South Africa and the Road Traffic Management Corporation to jointly develop a protocol for both members of the public and law enforcement officials.  Arrive Alive has encouraged everyone to spread this message.
